Hi blog readers!
I’ve been VERY bad lately! I haven’t been giving you folks anything to read! Well, I have an excuse. As I mentioned in a previous blog, I’m doing art again. It’s going well; well enough to get into a gallery in Scottsdale, AZ. (Yay!) But that means I need to keep producing more and more paintings…. inventory! So I’ll try harder to keep up my blog up and I’m still going to do the next newsletter… and the subject will be a surprise! So look for it soon.
OK, now to the real stuff. Trend Alert: Coral is still hot! And for good reason. It’s classy and classic. I mentioned coral, both as the color (deep coral red) and coral as an image in tableware and home accessories back in April when I did a tableware trend presentation at a conference. And at a recent Italian housewares show, it was hot again. Alessi is doing it now. Michael Aram is doing it. Albergo Di Positano has been doing it as well! Cristobal has been doing it for a while! It’s everywhere and it still looks awesome. There are even beautiful “coral” branches made from glass that look fabulous on your mantle. In fact, glass coral is great because it’s affordable and no real coral was harvested to make it! And it looks so realistic and vibrant. I have one branch in a large blue glass bowl surrounded by contemporary versions of those Japanese glass floats in shades of blue and green. The red coral just pops against the cool glass. Create your own still life!
See you again soon,
Ciao!
