Yep, it’s been Many Days since I blogged. What’s happened since:
- IACC-NA (International Association of Color Consultants/Designers) annual meeting in San Francisco
- Two amazingly cool lectures in SF (I helped organize) with Scheid Mumtaz of LifeEnergy Systems talking about full-spectrum lighting and Jill Pilaroscia of the Colour Studio talking about architectural color
- The Annual Cherry Blossom Festival In San Francisco’s Japan Town. I saw the fun parade with taiko drumming, folk dancing, and lots of colorful people.
- Another art reception at Toscana Gallery and Studio in Oro Valley. This time there was an outdoor “art walk” in a sculpture garden in the desert!
- Another art show, this one a juried show put on by the Greater Oro Valley Arts Council (GOVAC) and I won an honorable mention award for a paining I did a couple of years ago called “Quilted Flower”
- My work is in another art show, “Salon Des Refuses” show at Dinnerware Contemporary Arts. This show is for the artists that did not get into the AZ Biennial Show.
- My artist friend, Angela Rose, just finished installing a custom glass and stainless steel mosaic in my kitchen. It’s fabulous!!
- The 3rd Annual Southern Arizona Taiko Showcase is this Saturday, May 19th. So there are many rehearsals and preparations this week. Plus I’m hosting three taiko players from Fushicho Daiko in Phoenix at my home
- San José Taiko, our guest Star at the taiko Showcase, is giving a workshop Sunday morning
- Then there is the after Taiko Showcase Party Sunday afternoon at a local Thai restaurant…
And right now, I’m working on a new color newsletter to send to those on my mailing list! It’s going to be short (my time is short) and not put on the web right away but you’ll get it as a PDF.
More next week!
Cheers,
Reb
