Trend alert: I noticed that in the Winter 2006 issue of Home Furnishings Now magazine featured a page called Reflective Moods in their current trends section. The trend pictured furniture covered in mirrors, just like I mentioned in my ColorTalk newsletter issue almost a year ago, the winter 2005 issue on current trends! Sometimes it’s fun to make predictions that come true later….
And food for thought for the Holiday Season:
At some point in December/January most of us will see friends and relatives that you haven’t seen in ages. When you greet them, instead of a possibly half-hearted “wow, you look great!” when you don't remember what they looked like last time you saw them or maybe they’ve gained weight/lost weight/changed hair color/lost hair/got older since you did last see them, try saying something that does not focus on appearances: “wow, it is so wonderful to see you!” or a hearty “how have you been?”, (assuming you are glad to see them). Maybe it will cause you to think about focusing not on how someone looks, but focus on who they are as a person. Maybe it will spark a change in how you view others, which would be a wonderful gift to have.
Have a great holiday, whatever one you celebrate!
